How to cancel Spotify (and get a refund)
You cancel Spotify from your account page on the web — the cancel button is not inside the mobile app if you subscribed elsewhere.

- Go to spotify.com/account and open 'Manage your plan'
- Select 'Cancel Spotify' / 'Cancel subscription'
- Confirm — Premium stays until your next billing date, then the account drops to free (you keep your playlists)
⚠️ The app-store trap
If Spotify shows no way to cancel, you subscribed through Apple, Google, or a partner (a phone/internet provider) — cancel it there. On iPhone that's Settings > your name > Subscriptions.
Can you get a refund?
Spotify is generally non-refundable, but its refund policy allows a refund within 14 days of starting a paid plan in some regions (e.g. EU/UK) if you request it — check the official refund policy for your country.
Easy-to-miss gotchas
- On a Family or Duo plan, cancelling only removes your account — the plan manager must cancel the whole plan
- Cancelling during a free trial switches you to free immediately
